Donation & Refund Policy
Last Updated: January 1, 2026
Al Minhal Academy is committed to transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of every donation entrusted to us. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we use charitable contributions to support our masjid, Islamic education, community programs, and charitable initiatives. This policy explains how donations are handled and the circumstances under which refunds may be considered.
1. Nature of Donations
All donations made to Al Minhal Academy are voluntary charitable contributions intended to support our religious, educational, and community services, including but not limited to:
Masjid operations and maintenance
Islamic education and Quran programs
Hifz Program
Preschool, Online Maktab, and Saturday School
Community outreach and charitable initiatives
Facility improvements and operational expenses
Because donations are often used promptly to support ongoing programs and services, all donations are generally considered final and non-refundable, except as described in this policy or where required by applicable law.
2. Refund Requests
We understand that mistakes can occasionally occur. Refund requests may be considered in circumstances such as:
An incorrect donation amount was entered.
A duplicate transaction was processed.
An unintended recurring donation was charged.
A technical or processing error occurred during payment.
To request a refund, please contact us within 30 days of the original transaction.
Each request will be reviewed individually. If approved, the refund will be issued to the original payment method whenever possible.
3. Designated & Restricted Donations
Certain donations are designated for specific purposes and will be used only for those purposes whenever reasonably possible.
Zakat Donations
Zakat contributions are maintained and distributed in accordance with Islamic (Shariah) principles.
Zakat funds are used only for eligible recipients and purposes permitted under Islamic law.
Zakat donations are not used for administrative or operational expenses unless permitted under applicable Shariah guidance.
Donors are encouraged to clearly designate Zakat contributions when making their donation.
4. Donation Security
Online donations are processed through secure, PCI-compliant third-party payment providers such as Stripe and PayPal. Al Minhal Academy does not store your complete credit card or debit card information.
5. Tax Information
Al Minhal Academy is recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization under the Internal Revenue Code.
Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Official donation receipts are provided for eligible contributions.
If a refund is issued, it may affect the tax deductibility of the original donation.
Donors should consult a qualified tax professional regarding their individual tax situation.
